CoinGecko stated objective is to elevate crypto participants’ understanding of fundamental factors that drive the market. CoinGecko is an early crypto data aggregator, operating since early 2014.  By June 2020, CoinGecko is supporting 21 languages and tracking 7232 cryptocurrencies/tokens.

CoinGecko Beam lets users to see real time information updates from cryptocurrency project owners. CoinGecko Beam is supported by CryptoID, Coin Market App, CoinTrendz and Crypto Market Cap. Beam is also available through CoinGecko API and widgets.

History

CoinGecko was founded by Bobby Ong, a University College London economics graduate, and TM Lee, a Purdue University computer science graduate, in 2014. It was originally conceived after Bobby concluded that there was not enough resources available to do proper research on altcoins.
